I have four male friends. Whenever one of us is having his birthday, we have a longstanding tradition. We use to play tricks to the one who has an anniversary. It was my turn when I was about to have my 23rd anniversary. My friends told me they have a gift for my birthday. It was April 3. I remember it as if it was today. My friends told me they made an appointment for me to get an erotic massage on my birthday. I must confess I was very thrilled with the idea. I gave my consent instantly. They even offered o come with me to the "massage cabinet". I agreed. When I walked through the door I was a bit embarrassed. After all, what could happen to me, I told to myself. A practitioner came and told me. She would make the massage. She simply put her hands on different parts of my body. It was nothing erotic about her massage. She told me she was a Reiki practitioner. I never heard of Reiki so I didn't understand what it was. She explained to me what Reiki consists in. It was a palm healing massage, which was supposed to create a connection between me and the universal life force energy. When I heard such a thing I burst out laughing. I suddenly realized it was all sham. My friends played a trick upon me. I even visualized them laughing while they were waiting for me. They were certainly looking forward to see my face. On the other hand, the Reiki massage I got during that April afternoon was not bad at all. I felt released from negative thoughts and charged with an unknown energy. When my friends saw my face, they were disappointed. I was really happy and a new level of self awareness was shown to me.
